Today I want to point out an useful Wordpress plugin realized by Lester ‘GaMerZ’ Chan and called “WP-Ban”, that once installed allows anyone to ban IPs that are placed over and over again in the Akismet spam folder.

Usually, spammers  send the same spams more and more times, and Askimet put all the spam comments into the spam folder for you to check out.

I always wanted a plugin that allows me to ban IP address, when I see the same IP show up in Askimet over and over again.

Sure, a way to do this is to editing my htaccess file, but I don’t like to access to my FTP program every time I need to ban an IP.

 

Installation is very easy:

1. Open wp-content/plugins Folder
2. Put: Folder: wp-ban
3. Activate WP-Ban Plugin
4. Refer To Usage For Further Instructions
