Is Blog Or Website Your Right Choice?
The question is simple today: blog or website? I would do this question because I was reading a new site called “Blog or Build?” launched by SiteSell. In a nutshell, this article give some key points to those that must choose between this two business models.
For who don’t know SiteSell, is a company that sells websites, not blogs. So, by reading their article, you could think that they push the readers to buy website and display blogging in a less favorable light.Â
In general, the SBI article says this: if you don’t know what you are doing and want someone to build your readership, then get SBI. In my view, for some aspect, SiteSell offer some very valid points on this page, but I don’t agree with everything written.
For example, I’ve put this statement from the page… “Blogs usually have high Bounce Rates no matter what since normal visitor behavior is to read the newest post and then leave.”
Sure, that’s could be true for newbies that have blogs with low readers, and with information with no cohesiveness, but if you learn how to write and display content, no matter if you have a blog, you can increase your readership, so people read your articles and you can do all those things necessary to reach your purpose.
Despite what says SiteSell, and while I do think SiteSell made some valid points, I’ll continue to blog.
In general, I always said that, despite blogging is free, quick and easy to setup, isn’t the better ways to create a business online. Of course, there are some exceptions of bloggers that have created a business from scratch with their blog such as john chow or Darren Rowse, so I think that if anyone work hard can have some chance to reach their purpose.
So, should you build a blog or a website? In my view, you need both, because they could help each other. For instance, a blog could help a site to getting new subscribers by add a link to it, and so on. However, If you have no a definitive answer or have some doubts to that question, I reccomend to read SiteSell’s article and think what’s best for your purposes. As I said before, there are some great points that can give you some inspiration for your decision.
