1. Good PR – Whenever you are selecting a Domain name, just don’t go for any name. Choosing a blog with a good PR is the best way to be ranked well on Google search engines and driving huge amount of traffic.
2. Know data - You must know a few things of domain name before purchasing it, such as: Domain registration date, Domain Expiration date and Domain swapping date.
3. Domain names – Â While you can choose a domain name of up to 67 characters, I recomend to choose a short domain name for your blog.
You can choose to use characters, digits and hyphen. Usually, bloggers avoid use hyphenbecause it becomes tough to remember it in domain name.
So, be carefull when make your choice because a domain name can not be edited. Also, pick a niche that are relevant and specific, not generic.
4. .com, .org or .net – I’ve noticed that many famous blogger such as Problogger are using .net like extension. Others are using .org. I’m using .com for all my blog, in my view if you are blogging do not need to choose one or other. In blogging quality content is king, and are most important than extensions.
